Having the CSIRO studio and this one is really useful in terms of workspaces and ambience. Here I work on the sketches and paintings whereas at the CSIRO studio I work on digital material.
These drawings form a series of sketches intended as thrashing out ideas large scale and beyond the sketch book. The paper is lightweight and tends to tear when working into wet paint or ink. I enjoy this risk with the material, not to be precious and to remember it is process and not necessary for completion.
Whilst working on the drawings I am also thinking about the digital images and video. They are aligned, in the sense of layering materials and embedding image – just different treatment. I am not sure if these will be part of the exhibition.. it depends on relevance
